Your second day kicks off with a scenic ride along the lake’s western shore. You’ll cycle through lush landscapes, charming villages, and enjoy beautiful views of the water. The highlight of the day is a ferry crossing from Wallhausen to Überlingen, where you can enjoy a peaceful journey across the lake. Once you reach Überlingen, you’ll continue cycling through vineyards and picturesque towns until you reach Lindau, known for its medieval architecture and stunning lakeside setting.

On this exciting day, you’ll cross into Austria and cycle through Bregenz, known for its dramatic cultural landscape and the floating opera stage. Following the Austrian shoreline, you’ll ride along the lake and pass through scenic countryside before reaching Rorschach in Switzerland. The route will offer lovely views of the Alps in the distance and the calm waters of the lake. From Rorschach, a leisurely cycle will take you back to Konstanz, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing evening by the lakeshore.

Embark on a new route that takes you along the northern shore of the Untersee, a quieter arm of Lake Constance. The cycling paths are flat and smooth, with lush landscapes and tranquil lakeside views. Along the way, they will pass through small villages, vineyards, and forests. The journey culminates in Schaffhausen, a town known for the spectacular Rhine Falls. The day’s ride offers a peaceful and scenic experience, with opportunities to stop and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.

After visiting the majestic Rhine Falls in the morning, cycle along the south bank of the Untersee, enjoying a mix of lakeside paths and quiet country roads. The terrain is a bit steeper around the waterfall, but smoothens out as the day progresses. In the afternoon, you’ll take a ferry to Reichenau Island, known for its UNESCO-listed monastic sites and serene beauty. A short loop around the island offers the chance to see its stunning landscapes before returning to Konstanz for the evening. The day provides a delightful blend of nature and history.
On your final day, you’ll have the morning to further explore Konstanz before departing. You can visit any sites you missed on your first day, such as the Rosgartenmuseum or the Sea Life aquarium. The charming streets and lakeside paths offer the perfect setting for a peaceful walk or a relaxing coffee by the water, letting you take in the beauty of the area one last time. This tour is in our Challenging difficulty grading. Consisting of a blend of cycle lanes, quiet country roads and forest trails. You’ll spend most of the ride following the banks of Lake Constance and passing through the surrounding towns. While the route overall is relatively flat, the opening and closing days have some steeper ascent to tackle. The main challenge for this tour is the daily distance.
We offer hybrid bikes for this route. If you are having doubts about your fitness levels, we also offer electric touring bikes on this tour.

You have a choice of bringing your own bike or renting your tour bike through us during booking. For Lake Constance, the bikes available are quality electric or manual touring/hybrid bikes. If an electric bike is chosen, it will bring the daily saddle time down by approximately 1 hour.
We only partner with the best bike suppliers for all our destinations so you’ll be guaranteed well maintained, premium brand bikes such as Cube, Trek or KTM.
All bike rentals come with helmet, lock and repair kit. A network of mechanics are on call in case of any mechanical issues faced while on tour.
We offer tours on Lake Constance from April – October. At the start of the tour season, the average temperatures in Konstanz are approximately 12 °C (54 °F). This is the quietest times of the season to miss queues at landmarks and also the driest time of the year. Temperatures peak at 26 °C (79 °F) in July & August. Temperatures as high as 35 °C (95 °F) have been recorded, but these are quite rare. Please see image below for reference.
Around Austria and Switzerland, you’ll encounter micro climates where the weather can suddenly shift due to the alpine peaks lining the lake. It is recommended to have emergency wet gear packed at all times while riding. Precipitation in this region is typically infrequent but heavy in nature.
